Lighthouse Vocational Services

How to Serve Right Now
  • Lighthouse is a charitable organization with a mission to provide vocational services for persons with developmental disabilities to promote personal growth, opportunity, and hope for their future.
  • Please pray as 90% of our funding comes from the services we provide. Since we are currently closed and not providing services, money is not coming in, but bills still are! Please pray for a miracle that businesses and donors we are reaching out to can just bless us with the needed income in order for Lighthouse to still be a valuable asset to so many.
  • Donations can be made in the following ways: online at lighthousevoc.org, text GIVE to 717.276.1969, or mail checks payable to Lighthouse Vocational Services.

North Star Initiative

How to Serve Right Now
  • Volunteers to help with outside work such as leaves clean up, cleaning up flower beds, re-seeding grass at sections, planting flowers, and mulching
  • Pray for continued health and strength for our staff and residents. Right now everyone is healthy and we are praising God! We continue to pray for God’s provision in the midst of this unforeseen circumstance. God has been faithful to North Star, and in the past few weeks since the whole Coronavirus situation started we continue to see His faithfulness. We are trusting God and standing with all those impacted that He will provide for each and every family and business.

SWAN

How to Serve Right Now
  • Volunteer – Need unpaid interns for a summer camp through School District of Lancaster to provide assistance on the buses, assist in the classroom and oversee lunch and recess. This is an opportunity for college students, mature high school students, and adults to work with experienced teachers and mentor at risk youth.
    – Download Intern Advertisement
    – Download SWAN Volunteer Application
  • Pray – Pray for SWAN students who have been impacted by parental incarceration and the trauma that accompanies that situation. In addition to providing music/mentoring lessons, we also share the Gospel and spiritual truths in each class. Please pray that God would give saving grace to each student, that He would protect them, and give them the ability to succeed.
  • Donate – SWAN is not able to hold their spring fundraising event. If anyone is in a position to support a teacher or a classroom via online donations that would be a blessing. Our hope is to run a 5-week summer camp where students will receive 120 hours of instruction, daily Gospel devotions, and perform for their peers and community. We also need volunteers to assist during classes.
